OXFORD – The Oxford Planning Commission is asking officials with the city and Baptist Memorial Hospital to meet with residents at the nearby Bickerstaff Condominiums about noise from construction of a new medical center.

The commission told hospital officials a wood fence will not reduce the noise from the construction of the new Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and a road extension.

Baptist CEO Bill Henning has proposed adding storm windows to the second story windows on the back and on the sides of each condo unit and erecting a double-sided wood fence with an interior layer of mass loaded vinyl.
