OXFORD — Oxford School District Superintendent Kim Stasny will be out for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year while she undergoes treatment for a brain tumor.

School board president Buddy Chain tells the Oxford Eagle that assistant superintendent Brian Harvey will be in charge of the district until Stasny returns. Chain says the earliest she is expected to return to work is June.

Chain, who made the announcement Wednesday, says doctors discovered the tumor after Stasny experienced a slight vision problem. He says Stasny will undergo surgery soon with recovery anticipated to take six to eight weeks.
