TUPELO – Two men face federal charges associated with alleged enticement of minors for sex, U.S. District Court records show.

Alan W. Crisostomo, 19, of Saltillo, faces three federal charges associated with claims he sought to entice two minors to produce child pornography.

Carlos Malone, 29, of Columbus, was brought to Oxford on Wednesday to hear initial charges against him on one count that he tried to persuade a 15-year-old to have sex with him.

Both men are in custody – Crisostomo on $25,000 bond in the Lee County Jail facing similar state charges, and Malone in federal custody from incarceration at Central Mississippi Correctional facility serving a 12-year sentence for child abuse.

They also are set for trials Jan. 27 in Aberdeen.

Crisostomo was indicted last September, but details have just appeared on the U.S. District Court’s electronic documents system.

A federal grand jury accuses Crisostomo of using his cellphone to entice the minors about Aug. 3, 2013, to have sex with each other and with him to make images for interstate distribution.

If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison.

The government asks that Crisostomo be brought into court for prosecution on a charge different from one he is jailed.

He was arrested Aug. 5 in Lee County.

Malone’s indictment accuses him of using Internet and cellphone communications to entice a minor in Lee County from March 29 to about May 11, 2013.

Thursday, he pleaded not guilty before District Judge Sharion Aycock.

If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
