Pair indicted on pot charges

OXFORD – Two men are accused of federal charges they conspired to sell and distribute marijuana in Alcorn County.
Joel Pico, 40, and Carlos Castro, 41, no addresses listed, were indicted March 25. They are alleged to have possessed and distributed marijuana from September 2009 through March 2010 in Corinth.
Their indictment also calls for forfeit of any property that resulted from their alleged illegal activity.
If convicted, they could receive up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Pico and Castro will be arraigned April 5 before Magistrate Judge S. Allan Alexander.
Pico’s bond was set at $10,000. Castro is still in federal custody.
