TUPELO – Day care owner Florestine Gladney of Tupelo has hired attorney Frank A. Russell to represent her on federal charges she misused tutoring funds.
Russell’s hiring was listed Wednesday with her case in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.
Gladney was indicted April 23 on nine counts she lied and illegally converted at least $5,000 AmeriCorps volunteer pay to wages for her own day care employees.
She is set for arraignment at 11 a.m. today in Aberdeen before U.S. Magistrate Jerry A. Davis.
That’s when she’ll hear the full charges against her and enter a plea.
Gladney is free on $10,000 bond.
