Penn. hitchhiker struck, killed on Hwy. 45

ABERDEEN – A Pennsylvania man was killed about 6:42 p.m. Sunday while walking south on Highway 45.

Frank Horrocks, 41, of Scranton, Pa., was struck by a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, which also was going south. His brother was with him but was not injured.

The pickup reportedly was driven by Adam Wigner of Senecaville, Ohio.

“They were hitchhiking from Pennsylvania to Daytona, Fla.,” said Coroner Alan Gurley.

Horrocks was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple trauma.

The accident is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
