PONTOTOC – The Pontotoc Electric Power Association has sought permission from the Public Service Commission to construct a three-phase transmission line and bring it into Ecru.
In a public hearing before PSC Commissioner Brandon Presley, Pontotoc EPA General Manager Chuck Howell described the association’s plans.
“We will begin just northeast of structure number 30 at Martin Town on the east side of Highway 15 south of the New Albany city limits,” Howell said.
The line would travel south 1.5 miles to the Ingomar substation and cross Highway 15. The line would come back across the highway to the Union-Pontotoc county line and connect to the Ecru substation.
Construction could begin on the estimated $750,000 project as soon as the PSC approves it.
