JACKSON – Tupelo attorney Greg Pirkle will serve as a co-chair of the secretary of state's Charities/Non-Profit Study Committee.
This committee is one of six in an overall Business Reform Study Group, designed to look at how business is conducted in Mississippi.
The statewide group is chaired by Mark McCrary of Jackson; co-chairs are Pirkle, Carol Burger of Jackson and Charles Lindsay of Ridgeland.
Other Northeast Mississippians on the committee: Natalie Carlisle and state Rep. Brian Aldridge of Tupelo; Jan Eastman of New Albany; and Robert Paine of Oxford.
The committee will make recommendations to the governor and Legislature on how to help charitable organizations with fundraising and accountability.
