PLANTERSVILLE – The town of Plantersville will have a chief of staff for the first time.
Town Clerk Norma Ballard was given the title of chief of staff, authority to make personnel decisions, and an approximately 10 percent pay raise at the Nov. 5 Board of Aldermen meeting. She will still be responsible for her duties as clerk.
“Since we have a part-time mayor position, the board decided we needed someone with the clearance to make decisions at town hall on a day-to-day basis,” Ballard said. “I feel very honored to be in this position.”
Ballard has served as the town’s clerk for 14 years.
