Plantersville Police arrest two on multiple charges after they run out of gas

By Press Release

Two Lee County residents learned you can run out of gas at the worst possible times.

Lt. Kerry Whitten and Officer Ray Jennings of the Plantersville Police Department responded to reports of two men who had run out of gas on Hwy 6 at about 2 a.m. this morning.

The officers found Justin Traylor of Richmond Road with the car. Bruce Rogers of Shannon soon arrived on the scene and attempted to put gas in the car with a gas can.

During this, Rogers dropped bags of cocaine and marijuana and tried to “scrub” them into the ground. This was in full view of the officers while they were interviewing Traylor.

At about the same time, Lee County 911 reported the vehicle had been stolen. Both were taken into custody. Bruce Rogers tried to explain he had bought the car on Thursday from an unknown woman for a marijuana blunt. This unknown woman had also given him a quantity of cocaine.

Both Rogers and Traylor were transported to the Lee County Jail in association with the stolen car. Bruce Rogers is also charges with felony possession of crack cocaine and misdemeanor marijuana.

Rogers and Traylor have multiple prior felony arrests and will be arraigned at Lee County Justice Court on Monday.
