PLANTERSVILLE – Plantersville Police Chief Maury Schuh was placed on paid leave by the Plantersville Board of Aldermen Tuesday night.
Mayor Gloria Holland said the decision was made in executive session after citizens came to the Board of Aldermen meeting with concerns involving the police department.
“As a courtesy to them, we are going to look into their concerns and listen to them,” Holland said. “The board and I met last night to discuss the issue and we’re waiting for our attorney to return from being out of the country.”
Holland said they aren’t releasing details about their internal investigation of the police department but will make a decision to reinstate Schuh or continue the investigation on their June 19 board meeting.
Until then, Asst. Police Chief Shirley Moon will be in charge of the department.
