HOLLY SPRINGS — Three men arrested in a Marshall County assault and kidnapping case have pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
Sheriff Kenny Dickerson tells the South Reporter that the three pleaded guilty earlier this month.
Dickerson says Ashley Hardeman of Holly Springs; Xavier Parks of Saulsbury, Tenn.; and Gregory Jenkins of Hardeman County, Tenn., have each pleaded guilty to one count of information regarding conspiracy to commit grand larceny and one count information regarding accessory after the fact to aggravated assault.
The three were arrested in the April 11 attack on Charles Hardeman. Authorities say Hardeman was attacked and taken from his Holly Springs home.
Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth sentenced each to five years on each count with the sentences running consecutively. Each also was placed on three years’ supervised probation on one count and two years’ supervised probation on the other count.
A fourth defendant, Alexander Carter, is in jail under $1 million bond. Authorities say his case is scheduled to be presented to a grand jury in October.
