Police arrest three, seize drugs, guns and cash

A traffic stop in Monroe County led to three arrests and uncovered drugs, weapons and a large amount of cash.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit arrested Akem Grassaree, 25, of Macon; Gary Dewayne Jones, 28, of Columbus; and Tiqan Davis, 28, of Columbus. The arrests came as the result of a traffic stop on Highway 45 South near Hamilton on Thursday.

The narcotics unit seized marijuana, spice, firearms and more than $18,000 in cash. Charges are still pending on the three subjects, pending further investigation.

All three are currently being held at Monroe County Detention Center.
