Police look for two robbery suspects

TUPELO – Authorities are still looking for two men suspected in a Thursday morning robbery at a Nettleton pawn shop.
Nettleton Police Chief Ricky Payne said at 9:45 a.m. two men walked into the Gold Exchange Pawn Shop at Will Robbins Road, hit the clerk, jumped across the counter and took more than $9,000. Payne said one of the men hit the clerk while the other one took the money and ran from the store.
A second employee of the pawn shown chased the suspect outside and got into a physical altercation where he was allegedly attacked by both men.
After the men got into a gray Ford Escape with a Lee County license plate, Payne said the store clerk fired several shots at the vehicle, striking it in the passenger side door. One employee received stitches over his eye, but no one was seriously injured in the incident.
Nettleton straddles both Lee and Monore counties. The robbery took place on the Monroe County side.
