Police searching for suspect in Amory armed robbery

AMORY – Several law enforcement agencies are currently searching for a subject connected to an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday morning at a local pet grooming business.

According to Amory Police Chief Ronnie Bowen, a younger smaller stout black male who is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches used a box cutter to threaten an employee of Sassy Pups on Front Street at approximately 10:15 a.m.

The subject, with possible dreadlocks, was wearing a gray Ole Miss sweatshirt with red lettering. He took the employee’s 2002 silver PT Cruiser with tag number MJH-038. The vehicle was later recovered in Houston.

According to Bowen, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Aberdeen and Nettleton police departments have been alerted.
