A Pontotoc County Sheriff’s deputy was reportedly involved in a shooting on Beale Street in Memphis early Saturday morning.
According to Fox 13 in Memphis, the deputy is under investigation and in police custody and a 26-year-old man is hospitalized. The station reports the man and the deputy were in an argument around 2 a.m. and it turned physical, with the deputy firing a gun.
Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask said the name of the deputy involved has not been released and the Memphis Police Department said when they finish their investigation, they will send a report.
No investigators at the Memphis Police Department were available for comment.
