PONTOTOC – Feeding a small goat, cuddling a baby rabbit or riding a horse are just some of the activities handicapped and special education children will be able to experience during Pontotoc’s annual Spring Fling.

This year’s Spring Fling will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Pontotoc County Fair Grounds on state Highway 15 in Pontotoc. Participants from Pontotoc County and Pontotoc City schools range in age from kindergarten through sixth grade.

The event is being sponsored by the Pontotoc 4-Her’s, their leaders, volunteers and school staff. Also assisting in the program are individuals from the Farm Service Agency, Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Forestry Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service and Park Commission.

The events sponsored during Spring Fling are designed to provide a day filled with fun educational activities and many opportunities for the children to feel successful and have enriching experiences.
