PONTOTOC – A Pontotoc man was airlifted Friday after a one-vehicle crash around 9:30 p.m. in Pontotoc County.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Ray Hall, Christopher D. Wagoner, 32, was traveling south on Highway 9 about a quarter-mile north of Highway 334 when the car he was driving ran off the road. Hall said he over-corrected, ran off the other side of the road and overturned.
Wagoner was partially ejected from the car. Passersby stopped their cars and helped get Wagoner’s 2004 Chevrolet pickup off him.
Hall said Wagoner was not wearing a seat belt and had serious injuries. He was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
