A Pontotoc woman’s drowning death may have been caused by a medical condition, according to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine-Green.

Jennifer Eddington drowned in a pool at a private home in Pontotoc according to the coroner. She died last Friday.

Eddington, 30, was found in a pool at a home on Lafayette Springs Road. The preliminary autopsy report showed she had marks on her legs that were an infection.

Gillentine-Green said the infection may have spread throughout her body, which may have caused the drowning.
