IUKA – A full day of searching Tuesday for the body of a suspected drowning victim in the Tennessee River near Eastport yielded no results, said Tishomingo County Sheriff Glenn Whitlock.
The search resumed to find a man reported possibly drowned Monday afternoon after he swam with others in waters between Eastport and Coleman Park, the sheriff said. He has not been identified.
Searchers from Mississippi and Alabama on Tuesday were using sonar to help in their efforts, with members of the Tishomingo County dive team standing by, but were unsuccessful, Whitlock said.
The search resumes today, but with such a large area it will require some luck to recover the drowning victim, the sheriff said.
