Potts Camp man drowns on outing in Tishomingo County

A 61-year-old Potts Camp man drowned Friday morning at Yellow Creek.
Troy Rayburn McCraw was pronounced dead about 9 a.m. by Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon.
McCraw was on a camping outing at Goat Island, a popular Tishomingo County site, and had gone out with a friend on a boat on Yellow Creek, Wilemon said.
After McCraw dived into the water he surfaced at the side of the boat, Wilemon said, but when the friend on the boat looked back later, McCraw could not be seen.
The death has been ruled an apparent accidental freshwater drowning, and no autopsy will be ordered, the coroner said.
