A power outage struck downtown Tupelo for about 30 minutes on Sunday night.
It affected an area from Highway 45 to Gloster Street, said Johnny Timmons, manager of Tupelo Water & Light.
Between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m., an anchor line snapped, causing a power pole to tilt, Timmons said.
A static line fell onto a power line with 46,000 volts. That caused the static line to split and fall into a substation, where it affected 13 power lines that supplied the downtown area, Timmons said.
