NEW SITE – Two suspects have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine at a residence on Prentiss County Road 4170.

Stephen Robert Hopkins, 51, of 128 C.R. 4170, New Site, was arrested after a Thursday stop at a roadside safety checkpoint after he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, said Sheriff Randy Tolar. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of precursors, and his bond was set at $10,000.

After Prentiss County Narcotics officers, North Mississippi Narcotics officers and Prentiss County deputies served a search warrant at Hopkins’ residence, they additionally arrested and charged Linda Morgan, 52, with manufacturing a controlled substance-methamphetamine, the sheriff said. Morgan’s bond was set at $5,000.
