Professor charged with child porn

CLEVELAND — Delta State assistant professor of history Dr. Adam Lynde had his first hearing on federal charges of possessing child pornography.

On July 30, Lynde was indicted by a Greenville federal grand jury.

He was charged with knowingly possessing graphic computer image files of child pornography on a USB storage device and a computer.

A warrant was issued for Lynde’s arrest on July 31 and he has been out on a $15,000 secured bond since Aug. 6.

Through a court-appointed attorney, Lynde waived appearance at his arraignment this week and entered a plea of not guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

If convicted, Lynde faces up to 10 years incarceration, $250,000 in fines and no less than 5 years and no more than life of supervised release.
