Qualifying set for Alcorn board seats

CORINTH — Qualifying opens next week for three seats on the Alcorn School District Board of Education.

The Daily Corinthian reports the sign-up period opens on Wednesday and runs through Sept. 7. Qualifying paperwork must be submitted at the circuit clerk’s office.

The winners in two districts will serve six-year terms. However, a special election to fill the remaining term of board member Peggy Bain, who died earlier this year, will be for four years.
