at Multipurpose Building
n The Calhoun County MHV Council members are sponsoring their annual Quilt Show March 6-7. The homemakers would like to invite anyone interested in exhibiting their quilts to bring them to the Multipurpose Building for entry. There is no charge for exhibiting quilts. Exhibitors do not have to be MHV members. For more information call Millie Goforth at the Extension Office, 412-3177.
Quilts can be pieced, appliquampéd, embroidered or any other medium. They can be hand-quilted or machine-quilted. Quilts may be any size; there will also be categories for quilted pillows, wall hangings, table runners, clothing and accessories.
Everyone is encouraged to come view the exhibit on Friday, March 6, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be an admission charge of $2, which will also enters each person for a drawing for two quilts that will be given away Saturday at 3 p.m.
There will be a concession stand with a salad plate, dessert, and drink available for $6. Food available for eat in or carry out.

offer scholarship
n The Happy Homemakers Club of Calhoun County is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior of Calhoun County. Applications are available from guidance counselors of all high schools in the county, and from Millie Goforth at the Extension office in Pittsboro.
Requirements include completion of the application and an essay on amp”What I Can Give Back to My Community After I Receive My Education.amp”
Applications, which must be postmarked no later than April 15, will be evaluated based on need, leadership, academic record and career aspirations. For more information, call Millie Goforth at 412-3177.
ACT prep workshop
offered March 23-24
n Northwest Mississippi Community College is offering an ACT?Preparation Workshop March 23-24 from 6-9 p.m. Deadline to register for the class is noon, March 13.
This course provides an overview of the ACT format, followed by a review of verbal and mathematics fundamentals for solving typical test questions. Also to be discussed are management and test-taking strategies.
The cost of the course is $95 with the book included.

approves dividend
n The board of directors of Renasant Corp. approved the payment of a quarterly cash dividend of 17 cents per share to be paid April 1 to shareholders of record as of March 18.
