Ole Miss goes on the road for the first time this basketball season when the Rebels (3-1) take on Miami (4-2) at the 7,200-seat BankUnited Center in Coral Gables.
Tipoff is 6 p.m., central.
The Hurricanes have lost by four at Memphis and by 16 at Rutgers. They’ve won at home against Jacksonville, North Carolina Central and McNeese State.
Miami has three starters averaging in double figures, led by forward Malcolm Grant at 13.7 points a game.
The Hurricanes have size in the middle in center Reggie Johnson (6-10, 303), who is averaging 10.5 rebounds.
“We’ve scheduled aggressively in the first six or seven games, because we knew that would let us know where we stand,” Kennedy said. “The sad part is we let one get away that shouldn’t have, and the only way to answer that is to steal one on the road.”
The one that got away was Dayton, which defeated Ole Miss in overtime on Nov. 20. The last time out Ole Miss defeated Penn State 84-71.
Point guard Chris Warren leads the Rebels with 16.8 points a game. Indiana transfer Nick Williams adds 14.8.
“This is an ACC team with ACC talent. It will be a tremendous challenge,” Kennedy said.
