Ole Miss junior Jonathan Randolph has been selected to represent the U.S. in the 2010 Palmer Cup, which will be contested at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland on June 24-26.
The collegiate equivalent of the Ryder Cup has been played annually since 1997, and the U.S. and Europe are tied 6-6-1.
“It’s really exciting,” Randolph said. “Being able to represent your country is a great honor, especially alongside the top players in the country. It’s gratifying to know that all the hard work I put into my game is paying off.”
Ranked No. 6 nationally in Golfstat, Randolph is coming off a third-place finish at last weekend’s SEC tournament, where he led the Rebels to a second-place finish.
Joining Randolph on the eight-main U.S. team will be Florida senior Tyson Alexander and Georgia junior Russell Henley, the SEC champion.
