RED KAP WORKERS ELIGIBLE FOR MORE UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
Workers laid off by Red Kap Industries of Booneville and H.H. Cutler Co. of Oxford are eligible for additional unemployment insurance benefits.
The U.S. Department of Labor has determined that employees at the two companies were laid off or had hours reduced due to competition from foreign imports.
Employees at Red Kap who were laid off or had hours reduced after Feb. 22, 1995, and H.H. Cutler employees who lost work or hours after Jan. 18. 1995, are eligible for additional benefits, according to the Mississippi Employment Security Commission.
Red Kap produced work shirts and H.H. Cutler manufactured infants’ and children’s play clothes.
Those who believe they may be eligible for the additional benefits may contact the nearest Unemployment Insurance office of the state Employment Security Commission.
