CORINTH – A former Alcorn County supervisor was issued a demand Thursday to repay the county almost $159,000 for several instances of misusing county funds.
State Auditor Stacy Pickering told Alcorn County supervisors on Friday that Danny Crotts, who served as District 2 supervisor from 1991-2007, that Crotts or his bonding company is being required to pay $159,099.
This amount includes payment for misappropriated, converted to personal benefit, work on private property and missing equipment, plus interest and investigative costs.
If no payment is received in 30 days, the auditor has authority to pursue recovery through a lawsuit.
