Retired judge joins Tupelo law firm

TUPELO – David W. Houston III of Aberdeen, recently retired as north Mississippi’s bankruptcy judge, has joined the Tupelo law office of Mitchell, McNutt & Sams, the firm announced Wednesday.
Houston is regarded as a pioneer in developing the nation’s bankruptcy law and held his post in Aberdeen for 30 years.
He said he will concentrate his interests in such areas as commercial transactions and financial turnarounds, as well as complex
business and consumer bankruptcy issues.
Houston also said he anticipates using his years of experience on the bench to mediate and arbitrate commercial law disputes.
“I am extremely enthusiastic about the prospects of this affiliation,” he added.
The firm has 34 attorneys in offices in Tupelo, Columbus, Oxford, Corinth and Memphis.
