Ripley man airlifted after altercation

RIPLEY – A Ripley man was hospitalized in Tupelo Saturday night after being involved in a fight earlier that afternoon in Ripley.
Kedrick Storey, 36, a sports writer for the Southern Sentinel, sustained head injuries when he and a friend got into a fight with several other people in a bank parking lot on City Avenue North about 1:30 p.m. Police and family members said he returned to his house following the fight, and family members drove him to Tippah County Hospital. He was airlifted to Tupelo.
Family members said he was conscious at the Tupelo hospital, and was being monitored for swelling and bleeding.
Ripley Police Chief Scott White said the matter is under investigation, and at least two people are being sought for questioning. He said no charges have been filed at this time.
