Ripley man assaulted released from hospital

RIPLEY – Southern Sentinel sportswriter Kedrick Storey was to be released Wednesday, July 4 from North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, according to a text message from his cellphone received about noon Wednesday. No other information was immediately available.
He was hospitalized in intensive care after being injured in an altercation Saturday afternoon in Ripley, but was placed in a regular room Monday.
Storey, 36, of Ripley, returned to his house following the fight, and family members drove him to Tippah County Hospital. He was airlifted to Tupelo.
Ripley Police Chief Scott White said one person has been arrested in connection with the case, which remains under investigation.
