COLUMBUS – Henry Ross, who ran unsuccessfully in the June 1 Republican congressional primary, on Thursday endorsed party nominee Alan Nunnelee.
Ross, a former mayor of Eupora, announced the endorsement in a joint news conference with Nunnelee, a state senator from Tupelo.
“Alan offers the best chance of restoring a conservative representative to Congress for our district,” according to a statement from the Nunnelee campaign.
Nunnelee defeated Ross and consultant and former Fox News analyst Angela McGlowan for the nomination. She said she will support the winner but has not committed to an endorsement.
Nunnelee faces incumbent Travis Childers, a Democrat from Booneville, and seven minor party and independent candidates in the Nov. 2 general election.
