Rotary Club honors Students of the Month

The Rotary Club of Fulton recently honored three students for being chosen Student of the Month for October, November and December 2008.
Manterio Green was chosen for the month of October. Green is actively involved in the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and Skills USA. He has also been a member of the IAHS band and track team for the past four years.
Green serves as sports anchorman for the vocational center’s news. He is a member of St. Matthew M.B. Church in Fulton.
Green is the son of Shawn and Demetrist Green and has one sister, Shatoria.
November’s choice was Sam Marshall. He is involved in the National Honor Society where he serves as vice president and Student Council where he is vice president. He has also served as a class officer for the past two years and has been selected to Who’s Who and a class favorite.
Marshall is a member of the IAHS football and track teams. He has played center on the football team for the past three years and was selected first team all division, all state. In addition, he was chosen to participate in the Mississippi-Alabama All Star Football Game in Mobile, Ala. in December. He is an active member of First Baptist church in Fulton.
Marshall is the son of Gidget Haynes and Andy Marshall. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bates.
Courtney Collins was chosen for the month of December. She currently serves as president of the Future Business Leaders of America, vice president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is the public relations chair of the Peer Counselors.
Collins is captain of the girls’ tennis team and is the defending 4A state individual girls’ champion in tennis. Collins recently signed to play collegiately at the University of Memphis. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton.
Her parents are Buddy and Sungja Collins.
