SALTILLO – The Board of Aldermen unanimously adopted the city’s Fiscal Year 2012 budget during a special called meeting Monday.
It calls for no tax increase and no raises for municipal employees.
The general fund budget was set at $2.9 million – nearly $290,000 less than the current fiscal year spending plan. And the citywide budget was set at $4.7 million – about $480,000 less than the current year’s plan.
Declining sales tax revenues forced Saltillo to scale back this year, with each department trimming projected expenses, said City Clerk Mary Parker.
