SALTILLO – Bond was set at $100,000 Wednesday for a Saltillo man charged with first-degree arson.
Mark Martin, 44, of 181 County Road 1052, is accused of setting a house on fire at 328 County Road 395, Saltillo early Tuesday morning.
Two adults and two children were in the house, and they escaped without injury after the fire alarm woke them.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said the home was destroyed. Johnson said one of the occupants in the home was Martin’s ex-girlfriend.
Martin posted bond and allegedly made death threats against the ex-girlfriends family. Authorities are looking for Martin and will try to hold him without bond after he is caught.
