SALVATION ARMY TO SHOW NEW DISASTER CANTEEN

TUPELO – The Salvation Army will unveil its new Disaster Canteen at an open house Thursday.

The Disaster Canteen, purchased with funds from the District Office of the Salvation Army and the nonprofit CREATE Foundation, will help provide food services to residents in disaster situations.

The open house will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army’s office at 527 Carnation St. Tupelo Mayor Jack Marshall will be on hand for a ribbon cutting.

Capt. Keath Biggers said the canteen will be open for residents to tour.
