Sardis man to change plea in minor sex-try

By NEMS Daily Journal

OXFORD – Bruce Neil Lannet of Sardis will plead guilty to a federal charge Sept. 29, rather than go to trial four days later.
The U.S. District Court’s docket entry Wednesday said Lannet, 27, will change his plea before Chief District Judge Michael P. Mills.
Exactly what he’ll plead guilty to wasn’t specified.
Lannet was indicted March 23 on one count of coercion or enticement of a 15-year-old female, or an attempt to commit statutory rape.
The crime is alleged to have occurred in Lee County.
He faces up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
