A handful of schools will start later than normal Thursday as winter weather lingers in the area. Most schools in Northeast Mississippi have been out the past two days, but no closings for Thursday have been announced.

Here’s who will be starting late:

• Aberdeen Schools will open at 9 a.m., with teachers reporting at 8:30.

• Alcorn County Schools will begin at 9:30 a.m. and let out at 3:30 p.m., with teachers reporting at 8:30. Buses will be on a 90-minute delay.

• Amory schools will start at 9:30 a.m., with teachers reporting at 8:45.

• Itawamba County and Monroe County schools will both delay their starts by two hours.

Also, Itawamba Community College announced that the ICC Scholars’ Bowl scheduled for Thursday has been postponed, as has Thursday’s scheduled VEX Robotics Competition at ICC-Belden.

More information as it becomes available.
