Efforts to recover the body of a possible drowning victim resumed today on the Tennessee River in the waters between Eastport in Tishomingo County and Riverton, Ala.
The search for the man, whom authorities have not identified, began about 2:30 p.m. Monday when people who were swimming with him reported he had not come back up from a swim after a sudden storm kicked up, according to the Times Daily newspaper.
An unofficial source said the man might be from New Albany.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and the Tishomingo County dive team are assisting in the effort, and recovery had not been accomplished as of 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Tishomingo County sheriff’s office.
