TAYLOR – The search for Stephen Tyler Emerick began again Saturday morning after heavy rains forced searchers to suspend efforts Friday.
Lafayette County Emergency Management Agency Director David Shaw said searchers were still looking on land and in the Yocona River for the
19-year-old man and will continue until he is found.
The search started Wednesday, when Emerick’s truck was found running near the river with his keys, wallet and cellphone in it. The rescue operations have been supported by Search Dogs South; the Salvation Army; the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries
and Parks; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; and sheriff’s departments and volunteer fire departments from Lafayette and Yalobusha counties.
