SEC rivals get delayed

OMAHA, Neb. – SEC rivals Florida and Vanderbilt will try this morning to complete their weather-delayed College World Series game.
The Gators held a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when the game was delayed by storms on Monday night.
Play will resume at 10 a.m. and will be seen on ESPN.
The winner will get some rest – with its next game on Friday – and a favorable path to next week’s championship series.
The loser meets North Carolina on Wednesday in an knockout game. North Carolina eliminated Texas 3-0 on Monday.
Florida grabbed a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning on a towering home run by Preston Tucker – his 15th of the season.
The game featured a mighty pitching matchup – Florida Freshman All-American Karsten Whitson (8-0, 2.45 ERA) against SEC Pitcher of the Year Grayson Garvin (13-1, 2.36).
Florida is 3-1 in its meetings with Vanderbilt this season.
