HOLLY SPRINGS – Gregory Leon Jenkins is in Marshall County Jail after being arrested Friday by sheriff’s officers in Hardeman County, Tenn.
He faces charges of kidnap and aggravated assault in an attack on Charles Hardeman of Holly Springs.
When Hardeman was found April 11 in a wrecked truck, he was soaking wet, and his feet were bound. Investigators believe he had been hit on the head with a blunt instrument before being tied to a weight and dumped into a pond near his family’s house but that the belt holding the weight broke, allowing him to escape. Very near the time Hardeman was rescued the home burned, apparently by arson.
The case remains under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
