Sephora is opening a retail store inside JC Penney at The Mall at Barnes Crossing.
A dustwall has been put up in the middle of the store, and several banners announce Sephora’s opening on Oct. 5.
A spokewoman for the company confirmed the news.
In an email to the Daily Journal, she said, “We are very excited to expand our presence in the Tupelo area this October.”
According to its company website, Sephora is a beauty-retail concept founded in France by Dominique Mandonnaud in 1970. Sephora carries classic and emerging brands across a broad range of product categories including skin care, color, fragrance, body, smile care and hair care, in addition to its own private label.
Sephora is the leading chain of perfume and cosmetics stores in France. It is owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, the world’s largest luxury goods group.
JCP began opening Sephora inside its stores in October 2006. These stores are smaller than a normal store with about 1,500 square feet.
