Shaver: District’s dealings with Apple are good

By NEMS Daily Journal

TUPELO – School Superintendent Randy Shaver dispelled rumors that Apple was suing the district, saying that the relationship between the company and district “is good.”
A rumor had circulated that the computer company was suing the district because it had blocked student access to Facebook and was not allowing students to use the iChat program on their computers.
Shaver said that neither move violates the district’s contract with Apple.
He said that the decision to disable certain programs and block some websites was made because of requests from teachers and parents.
