OXFORD – David Shaw is Lafayette County’s new emergency management coordinator, replacing Jimmy Allgood, who left the position earlier this spring after the city of Oxford established its own emergency management agency.
Shaw has more than 30 years in law enforcement, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Lafayette County Administrator Joseph Johnson said Monday that Shaw has 14 years of administrative experience, including the past three as director of MBI.
“He has experience working with budgets and grants and has experience directing and coordinating personnel in times of disaster,” Johnson said.
