JACKSON, Ky. — The sheriff of a rural county in Kentucky says an unidentified gunman has killed five people and then himself.
Breathitt County Sheriff Ray Clemons says the shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, but he had few other details to release. He could not yet release the names of the shooter or his victims.
He says it appears to be a domestic situation but it’s too soon to make a complete determination.
Breathitt County is located in the rugged eastern part of the state, almost 90 miles southeast of Lexington.
