SHERMAN – Hiring one more person to the fire squad in Sherman could give residents a tax break.
“Right now we are at an 8, and we could be a 7 if we can get our points,” Fire Chief Brad McMurray said.
He also said the volunteer force could use some more bodies.
“We have lost some folks due to them moving from Sherman, and we could sure use some more volunteers for the force,” he said.
McMurray said if anyone is interested in being a volunteer, they meet on the second and fourth Mondays at 7 p.m. at the fire house in Sherman.
