Smithville scales back town office complex

By NEMS Daily Journal

SMITHVILLE – The town board in Smithville has scaled back plans for a new government office complex.
Officials said they are not getting everything on their wish list but it will be close and within the $660,000 budget.
Smithville Town Attorney Sam Griffie said aldermen will take about a week to thoroughly review all the contracts. The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Mississippi Emergency Management
Agency must then approve the plan before work can begin.
The previous town hall was destroyed in an April 27, 2011, tornado.
